Published by Jamie JemmesonThe northern region of Egypt known as the White Med is set to become more accessible to British travellers thanks to a new direct flight service from Gatwick and Manchester commencing on March 30th, it has been claimed.Khaled Ramy, director of the Egyptian State Tourist Office, commented that while the region has long been popular with domestic tourists, many savvy travellers are also coming to appreciate its crystal clear waters, pristine beaches, leisure and sports activities and cultural heritage. And while the pyramids are easily accessible from the White Med, Mr Ramy advised anyone planning a trip to the country that no tour would be complete with a journey down the Nile."If you go on a luxury Nile cruise for seven nights, every day you will have something new that you can explore whilst on the same boat, you don't have to change the hotel every day," he commented.Egypt may also be attractive to holidaymakers looking to travel outside the eurozone to avoid uncompetitive foreign currency exchange rates. For competitive rates and commission free travel money, visit our Travel FX site
