Published by Zeb BhamUK manufacturers are benefitting from the return of the perception that British goods are high in quality, an expert has argued.Ed Moss, a spokesperson for the Manufacturing Institute, argued that some positivity is being felt in the industry thanks to the perception that UK goods are well built.Although tough economic conditions continue to affect the sector, manufacturers are beginning to be more positive, he suggested."UK-produced products seem to be coming back to being perceived as good quality, which is something that is very nice to see," he said, adding that this view is supported by apparent "grumblings" with regards to the quality of manufacturing from the Far East.Having products made in the UK offers "a little bit of an edge", he said.Mr Moss was speaking following the release of a survey from the Confederation of British Industry, which found that there is growing demand for UK-made goods, particularly from overseas. For more information on international payments, visit our Smart FX site
