Published by Mark Smith-HalvorsenTunisia and Morocco look to be among the most popular travel destinations in 2010, according to the Association of British Travel Agents.Frances Tuke, spokesperson for the organisation, has explained that the primary drive behind the growing popularity of the two destinations is a change to air passenger duty which occurred in October.Effectively, the new banded system means that people travelling to the two countries will now be charged £11 instead of £40 in duty fees."The big winners will probably be outside of the eurozone again and we think Morocco and Tunisia because actually the air passenger duty change has actually positively impacted on those destinations," said Ms Tuke. Her comments followed a statement from Thomson and First Choice predicting that value for money will be the most important factor for holidaymakers planning trips abroad this year.In addition to looking for the best air fares and package deals, searching for the best deals on foreign currency may be an effective way to lower costs and stretch overall travel budgets. In this regard, countries outside of the eurozone may be of particular interest. For competitive rates and commission free travel money, visit our Travel FX site
