Couples tying the knot this year will be keeping a keen eye on the overall cost of their honeymoon, according to Wedding Ideas Magazine.
Commenting recently, Rachel Southwood, the magazine's director, said that there may also be a surge in popularity for the 'mini-moon', a short break taken immediately after getting married.
A-list actor Channing Tatum recently gave the short break a PR boost during an interview with the Press Association, when he told the news agency that he and his wife Jenna Dewan had been too busy to take a "full-moon", but had been on a mini-moon to celebrate immediately after their ceremony.
With people taking shorter honeymoons, Ms Southwood also predicted a rise in city-break bookings: "We expect Mauritius and the Maldives to see a resurgence in popularity. It's also going to be a snowy or city break kind of year as people demand more from their honeymoon."
