Foreign property mortgage interest 'strong in the US'

Published by Zeb BhamBritish foreign property investors will be encouraged by developments in the US property market, according to Mayfair International Realty.Annette Reeve, director of the UK real estate brokerage, said that house prices are up five per cent on an annual basis, but the latest Clear Capital report showed a minor dip in prices in the last quarter. She said this may prove encouraging to British investors on the lookout for a foreign property mortgage, as prices are likely to rise again quickly."Stuff is not staying on the market nearly as long as it was and inventory levels are right down so they have not got the same stock of properties that they had," she commented. However, she added that growth in the market is being driven by long-term investors looking for a property that will appreciate incrementally over the years to come.Despite registering an annual rise in national house prices, the Clear Capital report identified several regions where prices are continuing to fall, with the Florida market faring particularly badly. For more information on purchasing currency for regular or one-off payments, visit our Personal FX site
