Foreign exchange market makes Iceland 'a steal'

Thursday, 17 September 2009 09:18:53 GMT

Iceland is currently "a steal" due to the foreign exchange market between it and the UK, it has been claimed.
Bob Atkinson, travel expert at travelsupermarket.com, explains that Iceland's turbulent economy over the past year has made it a more affordable destination for Britons.
"The economy in Iceland has gone through the floor and their exchange rate has too," he comments.
Mr Atkinson adds that the foreign exchange market has removed the prohibitive levels of expense that some people used to associate with Iceland.
Due to the larger amounts of foreign currency that can now be purchased for the same number of pounds, he suggests that the country's affordability has improved.
However, he advises that the same practices as ever can still help to improve spending efficiency.
These include researching a destination before leaving home, as well as avoiding areas that are likely to cater specifically to tourists, as they could charge a premium for essentials such as food.ADNFCR-2522-ID-19365107-ADNFCR
