The euro remains close to its strongest position of the year, reports Dow Jones.According to the newswire, market momentum has helped to maintain the euro's position above the benchmark $1.4450 against the US currency.Breaking through this barrier on Tuesday, Dow Jones adds that the euro has now escaped the "tight summer ranges" previously seen.Over the course of Wednesday, the euro moved marginally against the Japanese currency from 133.71 yen to 133.90.Meanwhile, against the dollar, it shifted from $1.4489 near the end of Tuesday to a higher position of $1.4551.The trend was mirrored by pounds sterling, which rose from $1.6500 to $1.6535.Dow Jones figures show that the euro's lowest point compared to the dollar occurred in early March. At that time, it dipped to less than $1.2500 to the euro; however, the Dow Jones Newswire chart shows that its current growth trend has been maintained broadly since mid-April.
