Airline passengers may benefit from a price slashing campaign in 2010 as carriers look to secure customers, according to the European Regions Airline Association (ERA).
Simon McNamara, director of industry affairs for the organisation, explained that 2009 has been a torrid year for the aviation industry that many will be glad to see the back of.
Looking ahead to the coming year, he predicted that customer demand may begin to stabilise, although airlines will still take a very cautious approach.
"They will be hoping to inspire customer confidence over the coming year - so there could still be some good deals to be had," he added.
His comments followed a press statement from Visit Britain forecasting further upheaval in the aviation industry in 2010 as carriers react to shifting demand conditions.
For those who are planning a trip abroad next year, searching for the best exchange rates on foreign currency could help to make that dream holiday more affordable.
