Published by Jamie JemmesonBritons are likely to travel more in 2010 than they did last year, according to the Association of Independent Tour Operators (AITO).Commenting yesterday (January 26th) as official figures revealed that the country has exited recession after 18 months, AITO spokesperson Ian Bradley said that travellers who forwent a foreign holiday last year in order to save travel money will be keen to head overseas this year."Most people will be looking for sun and for value. Places like North Africa and the Middle East will probably give you that. The same with Greece, Cyprus and places like that," he said, clarifying that the latter two destinations may be less desirable because of the strength of the euro.Looking ahead to prospects for growth for the global tourism market in 2010, Mr Bradley claimed that the well-established travel hotspots are likely to be those that recovery most quickly, as they will have the capacity to offer some great deals for cost-conscious travellers throughout the year. For competitive rates and commission free travel money, visit our Travel FX site
