Travel currency exchange rates for the Baltic states can be more favourable than those in the eurozone, giving the opportunity for people to make their money go further.Published by Mark Smith-HalvorsenSpeaking following the publication of a new list from cheapflights.co.uk detailing the top destinations for 2010, global sales director at the firm Francesca Ecsery said that countries in eastern Europe are growing in popularity. The destinations in this region "offer a more favourable exchange rate than the eurozone destinations, but they're near enough that flights are still relatively inexpensive," she said.Countries to make the list of top destinations for the coming year include Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia, as well as Iceland and Ukraine.A number of non-European countries also made the list."Culture-rich Latvia and Estonia offer an abundance of striking, centuries-old architecture and picturesque coastlines, Ms Ecsery said.Such factors have helped to put the countries at the top of many people's 'to do' list, she argued. For more information on purchasing currency for regular or one-off payments, visit our Personal FX site.
